Open the Bulk Editor Wizard

Open the Bulk Editor Wizard to select multiple objects and change their properties.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open erwin� Data Modeler.
  2. Open a data model either from the local directory or from Mart.
  3. In the Bulk Editor pane, click Invoke the Bulk Editor Wizard to change object or property selections.

    The Bulk Editor Wizard opens.

  4. (Optional) Click the Display either Logical Names or Physical Names button and select Logical Names.
  5. Click the Object Types tab and select the Attributes and Domains check box.
  6. Click the Property Types tab and select the Definition and Logical Data Types check box.
  7. Click the Object Instances tab and select the instances that you want to edit for Attributes and Domains.
  8. (Optional) Click the Save current selections as a new Option Set button to save your selection for future use.
  9. Click Edit.

    The selected properties are displayed in the Bulk Editor pane in a tabular format.

Decide an Option

You can decide an option depending on one of the following conditions:

  • If you have the necessary permission to update the properties, then update the properties in the Bulk Editor pane.
  • If someone else has to update the properties and they do not have access to erwin DM, export the properties to a .csv file. You can send the .csv file to your reviewers for the update. After you receive the updated .csv file, import the changes to erwin DM.
